The Sparrow and the Trees is a darling tale of why the trees lose their leaves in the winter. When Papa Sparrow hurts his wing, he sends his family south without him trusting in the leafy trees of the forest to protect him. Unfortunately, the leafy trees are too proud and vain to shelter one tiny sparrow for the winter.
Chriscoe’s prose coupled with the gorgeous artwork of Susan Detwiler makes for story that you’ll want to read again and again! I know it’s my three year old’s go to bedtime story! I definitely recommend this book for any home library.
